At the end of each encounter, Akara-184, an android with advanced empathy, tests him on the motivations of the people he has talked to. Brandeis, a freelance hacker, designs genetic implants on a lathe to change the attitudes of executives. You also impersonate important figures over the phone and play their motivations against each other. Bartending, pottery and phone calls still give a story about happiness three different ways of playing.
