Is it still worth playing?
You unpack a woman's possessions from boxes into a new home, in this 2021 puzzle game from the Australian studio Witch Beam. The game is divided into stages named after the years they take place in, from 1997 to 2018, and each unpacked item has to fit into the living space. Some items have designated places that you have to find to complete the stage. There are 35 rooms across all the dwellings. The protagonist is unseen and unnamed, and her life story is learned through her possessions and the places where she lives, in an almost wordless story told by objects. The sound design has over 14,000 foley effects, with sounds unique to each item. There are no points or failure conditions, so the challenge is self imposed. Placing each object still tells a bit of a life.
