Is it still worth playing?
A band of outcasts arrives in the wilderness with what they carry, and you keep them alive. It is a 2014 city builder for Windows, made by one man, Luke Hodorowicz, over 5,500 hours from August 2011, with no fighting in it. Every citizen is a resource to be put to a job, building or fishing or cutting wood, and you build houses, farms, a hospital, a smithy and a school, growing the population no faster than the food. A hard winter can wipe out a town with meager firewood stockpiles. Once a town stabilizes, routine takes over and the urgency fades, so the struggle against nature is where the game is. Its maker cited the Anno series as a big inspiration. The winter still makes the first years of a town the game today.
