Is it still worth playing?

Mina Han, a young cook from a sleepy village, wants to join the Battle Chef Brigade, warrior chefs who hunt monsters and cook them, in this 2017 mix of brawler and puzzle game. Each contest starts with a hunt: Mina fights monsters with two daggers and magic in a side scrolling arena, gathering plants and the parts the monsters drop. Back in the kitchen, ingredients turn into colored flavor gems on a four by four grid, which you rotate so that matching gems combine and rank up, raising the quality of the dish. Up to three judges score it, each with a taste of their own, against a theme ingredient and a time limit. Later matches bring poisonous ingredients and two or three dishes at once, and side jobs teach new techniques. The story takes ten to fifteen hours. The two halves feed each other, and that is still the draw today: what you hunt decides which gems you have to cook with.
