Is it still worth playing?
Kain, an arrogant nobleman, is killed within the first five minutes and brought back as a vampire by Mortainus, the Guardian of Death. He sets out for revenge and a cure through Nosgoth, whose Pillars are held by a corrupt Circle of Nine sorcerers, each a boss to hunt. This 1996 action adventure for the PlayStation, with a Windows version in 1997, is seen from above and mixes hack and slash, puzzles and hazards. Kain drinks: blood in several colors restores health or magic, and he gains weapons, spells and other shapes, with a hundred secrets to find. A lawsuit over the rights followed, and the publisher kept them and made Soul Reaver. The drinking still makes the hero's health bar the people he kills.
