A junior deputy sheriff is trapped in Hope County, Montana, where the doomsday cult Eden's Gate rules under Joseph Seed, in this 2018 first person shooter. You build resistance in three regions by attacking outposts and destroying cult property, then take on the lieutenant who controls each one. Vehicles include helicopters, quad bikes and jeeps, and you can hire companions to help you. Nearly the whole campaign can be played in co-op, with a friend acting as hired help. Side content includes stunts, hunting, fishing and wingsuit gliding, and perks come from completing challenges. Far Cry Arcade lets you create and play challenge maps. It has no survival mechanics. A big open county to roam with a friend is still the draw.
