Is it still worth playing?
A kidnapped infant leads Gabriel Knight and Grace Nakimura into a mystery in the French region of Languedoc, in this 1999 point and click adventure for Windows. It involves vampires, the Knights Templar and the Holy Grail, and it is inspired by a real treasure conspiracy tied to the area. The 3D game is split into chapters over three days, and you play Gabriel or Grace, alternating between them for most of the chapters. Each chapter has required actions, which you can do in any order while exploring and trying optional ones. An overhead map highlights where something needs doing, and the sound of a ticking clock means an action has changed things elsewhere. You act through verb commands, combine items in your inventory and interview people, and conversations cannot be reviewed afterward. Chapters that let you do the required actions in any order still leave room to look around.
