Is it still worth playing?
A 2012 business simulation in which you start a game company in a garage, alone and with little money, and grow it across the decades. For each game you choose a name, a topic, a genre and a platform, then weigh the work across three stages, such as world design, sound and graphics. Contract work pays the bills early on and earns research points, which unlock new topics, technology and your own game engine. New consoles keep arriving under parody names, and you buy licenses to make games for them. As the company grows you move to bigger offices, hire and manage staff, and later open research and hardware labs to make MMOs and consoles of your own. Each game you make is a new set of choices about topic, genre, platform and focus, so a new company is still worth starting today.
