About this game
Eric Barone's 2016 farming game, which he made alone over about four years, art and music included. You inherit a field full of weeds outside Pelican Town and clear it, plant it and work out what a day is worth. Four seasons of twenty eight days, and a crop not harvested before the season turns is gone. Energy runs down as you work and comes back from food and sleep, so a day is a budget rather than a stretch of time. There is a mine with ore and monsters in it, a fishing minigame, and a town of people to give things to, twelve of whom will marry you. The community centre asks for bundles of goods to reopen, and the Joja route lets you pay to skip all of it. The bundles are why the work adds up: everything you grow, catch and dig has somewhere to go, so a season is a list you are working through.
