Is it still worth playing?
Max, an aspiring rock star, climbs the nine floors of the Mega Hero Academy to fight King Krond, who has banned all music, in this 1994 isometric puzzle adventure for the Game Boy. Each floor has three missions, usually finding a unique item or defeating a special enemy, and you can do them in any order or skip them. Reaching the next floor takes enough money, which comes from missions, gold bullion and hearts. Max's abilities sit on two buttons, and standing on an icon swaps one, as with a rubber duck that grants the Duck ability. The rooms hold puzzles you have to solve in the right order, with traps such as collapsing floor panels. Leaving and re entering a room resets it, a hit also resets it, and there are no checkpoints. The grey palette makes depth hard to judge. Rooms that can be reset by leaving and coming back still make each puzzle a matter of trying again.
