Is it still worth playing?
Lo Wang takes a job from the Yakuza to retrieve an ancient trinket, in this 2016 first person shooter from Flying Wild Hog, the sequel to the 2013 reboot of the 1997 game. You can play alone or in a new four player co-op mode, where each player experiences the story as Lo Wang and sees the others as anonymous ninjas. The levels are more open and nonlinear than before, with climbing walls and double jumping, and you can revisit earlier missions to upgrade Wang's skills. Every mission, apart from story events, has a randomly generated layout with randomized enemies, terrain and weather. A procedural damage system lets you cut off limbs. Over 70 weapons, from firearms to blades, level up as you kill. Melee has combos that raise spiked pillars from the ground, and the campaign takes about 15 hours with side missions. Random layouts still make a revisited mission a new place.
