Plankton's robots, built to take over Bikini Bottom, run wild because he forgot to make them obey, in this 2020 remake of the 2003 platformer Battle for Bikini Bottom. You play SpongeBob, Patrick and Sandy, switching at bus stops between the two each level offers. Each has their own moves: SpongeBob bowls bubbles, Patrick throws fruit and enemies at switches, and Sandy fights with a lasso and glides with it. Golden spatulas open new areas, and 75 are needed for the final boss. You also collect shiny objects, which pay tolls and buy spatulas from Mr. Krabs, and socks, which Patrick trades for spatulas. The levels are mostly linear, with side paths and secrets, from downtown Bikini Bottom to Rock Bottom. New is a horde mode for two players. The collecting holds up today, because reaching every part of a level takes the moves of each character it gives you.
