Is it still worth playing?

Real time dogfights of two to eight players, Rebel against Imperial, are the point of this 1997 space combat game for Windows, the third X-Wing game and the one built for playing against people. Free for all, team and cooperative modes are on offer, with a pilot and mission system, and the ships are texture mapped and in high resolution for the first time in the series. There is no campaign to speak of, which the lead designer, David Wessman, took the blame for, and the Balance of Power expansion later added story campaigns of 15 missions for each side. The eight players still fly dogfights against people, on whichever side you choose.
