Is it still worth playing?

Lance Casey, a rookie pilot, flies missions from the carrier TCS Midway against a new insectoid alien race, in this 1997 space combat game for Windows. The aliens, the Nephilim, invade through a wormhole. It was the first main Wing Commander game in which the player was not Christopher Blair. The new VISION engine offers two kinds of controls: basic, which couples pitch, yaw and roll like an airplane, and advanced, which makes each axis independent. You can also turn off the coupling to tilt the ship with thrusters, drift sideways beside a capital ship while shooting, or spin around quickly to hit a chaser. Conversations with crewmates are filmed scenes. A free expansion, Secret Ops, followed in 1998. Basic and advanced controls let you choose between airplane like handling and full control of each axis even now.
