Is it still worth playing?
The first Yakuza game with turn based battles, a 2020 RPG in which Ichiban Kasuga comes out of prison after 18 years, is betrayed by his old boss and sets out to become a hero. Fights start when thugs turn into red eyed monsters, and up to four party members take turns, picking up bicycles and other things lying around to hit with. Ichiban's allies include Nanba, a homeless former nurse, and Adachi, a former detective. Jobs change a character's role entirely: Ichiban can go from brawler to a musician whose guitar helps the party. Fighting together or eating lunch together brings the party closer, which helps in battle. It is set in Yokohama, which opens up as the story goes on, with karaoke, kart racing and many side stories. Its party is the reason to play it now, with jobs and friendships that decide how the fights go, and a Yokohama full of things to do between them.
