Is it still worth playing?

In this turn based fantasy strategy game for Windows from 1999 you lead one of twelve races on procedural or custom maps, combining empire building, role playing and tactical combat. Gold pays for building and recruiting and mana pays for spells, which come from eight magic spheres: Life, Death, Fire, Water, Air, Earth, Cosmos and Secret. Up to eight units can share one hex tile, and units have movement points that refill each turn. In battle you can place your units by hand or let the game resolve the fight, and heroes gain experience and skill points across 30 levels. Altars act as large scale weapons that need 500 mana to activate, and relations between the races shift through war and diplomacy. The choice in every battle, to place the units yourself or let the game decide, is still its draw today.
