Astrologaster 2019

Is it still worth playing?

You play Simon Forman, a real astrologer and herbalist who worked in London under Elizabeth I and James I, in this 2019 comedy narrative adventure from Nyamyam. Thirteen clients come to him several times with personal, professional and medical problems, and he examines the stars to give them answers. The patients are based on his casebooks, and some are real historical figures such as Emilia Lanier and Robert Devereux. You choose astrological interpretations to advise them, which affects the story and their satisfaction. Satisfied clients write letters of recommendation, and with enough of them you can obtain a medical licence from the University of Cambridge. The studio started from a talk about Forman's casebooks at Cambridge. Problems range from terror plots and foul diseases to romantic entanglements and stolen pies. A history lesson told as comedy still suits a short evening.
