Is it still worth playing?
An amnesiac detective wakes in Revachol, the former capital of a dead country, with a murder to solve and the body still hanging in a tree. It is a 2019 role playing game for Windows, which reached consoles as The Final Cut in 2021. Kim Kitsuragi, a lieutenant from another precinct, is his partner. There is no combat in the usual sense: events are settled by skill checks, a roll of two six sided dice, and by dialogue trees. Four attributes, Intellect, Psyche, Physique and Motorics, hold six skills each, and every skill is a voice that can speak up and steer what he says. Thoughts picked up in play go into a Thought Cabinet, where in time they become lasting bonuses, penalties and new things to say. The clock moves only as conversations go on, and the case has no time limit. Twenty four voices with opinions of their own still make every conversation a choice of whom to listen to.
