Joseph Capelli lives with his family in a cavern until he is asked to help finish off the Chimera, in this 2011 first person shooter for the PlayStation 3. Years after the war, Chimeran terraformers have turned Earth into an icy wasteland and less than ten percent of humanity is alive. The journey runs from Oklahoma to the Chimeran tower in New York, with set pieces that include a sniping section and a high speed train heist. Capelli is the soldier who shot series hero Nathan Hale. The weapon wheel returns so you can carry every weapon at once, new guns include the Mutator and the Cryogun, and weapons level up the more you use them. It shifts from military war to a post apocalyptic survival horror feel. Online matches hold 16 players, and local and online co-op are supported. A smaller, grimmer story still gives it a mood of its own.
