Is it still worth playing?
Sonic and Tails set out to keep the Chaos Emeralds from Robotnik, who has tricked Knuckles into helping him, in this 1994 platformer for the Game Gear. A treasure hunter named Fang the Sniper is after the Emeralds too. You choose Sonic or Tails and run through six zones of three levels each, the third ending in a boss. Both can spin dash, Sonic can also use the peel out, and Tails can fly for a short time. Many power ups belong to one character, such as Sonic's jet board and Tails' sea fox. You lose rings when hit and gain a life at 100. A Chaos Emerald box with at least 50 rings sends you to a bonus stage to win one of the Emeralds, which is either a maze or a plane flight. The pace is slower than on the 16 bit consoles, which leaves time to look for hidden areas today.
