Is it still worth playing?

Tex tells his love interest about his first case as a private detective. It is a 1998 adventure for Windows, the fifth Tex Murphy and a remake of Mean Streets: the death of his ex wife Sylvia's father, a suicide on the face of it, with implants and mind control underneath, in the San Francisco of the series after the third world war. It began as a demonstration for a new Intel chip, and the studio built it up into a game when Intel pulled out. The plot is more linear than the original's freeform play, with many of the same characters and places and new actors. It is full motion video in 3D rooms on a new engine, with conversations chosen by the gist of what Tex will say, and two settings, 1,500 points for Entertainment and 4,000 for Gamer. The first case still has a detective remembering how he began, in rooms you can walk.
