Is it still worth playing?

Alex Kidd's girlfriend is kidnapped by Hanzo the Dark Ninja, and Alex is given a ninja's strength to rescue her, in this 1990 side scrolling action game for the Master System that parodies Shinobi. It was never released in Japan. It has four rounds based on missions of the original Shinobi, each with three stages. The third stage is a boss battle. Alex slices with a sword that can be powered up, throws darts, climbs ropes, bounces off walls and turns into a flying fireball. He starts with three hit points and can fill a health gauge of six, which makes it the only Alex Kidd game with a life meter. Destructible blocks, slippery controls and swimming stages remain from the series. It is short. A parody of a ninja game still keeps the pace light.
