Is it still worth playing?

A role playing game for the Game Boy and Game Boy Color, released in Japan by Enix in 1998 and in Europe and North America in 2000, the first of the Dragon Quest Monsters series. You play Terry from Dragon Quest VI as a child, trying to save his sister, and instead of fighting yourself you recruit monsters into your party, coaxing them with meat after random battles. You can breed two monsters into a new, stronger one, and extra monsters wait on the Farm, where leaving them awake makes them wilder. There are over 200 monsters to capture and breed. Battles are turn based, and winning opens Traveler Gates to randomly generated areas where stronger monsters appear the farther you go. The story leads to the Starry Night Tournament. A team you breed yourself, one fusion at a time, gives each save its own shape.
