Is it still worth playing?

Dust wakes without memories and, with a sentient sword and its guardian Fidget, helps the people of Falana against General Gaius, in this 2012 action role-playing game. It is a 2D side scrolling game with Metroidvania exploration, where new abilities open secrets and chests in places you could not reach before. Combat is brawler like, with Dust's sword, magic from Fidget and chains of moves that make fluid combos. You earn experience, level up and spend gems to improve stats. Dean Dodrill made almost all of the programming and art himself, with help only for voices, story and music. The cartoonish art is influenced by Studio Ghibli and 1990s Disney. Moves that chain into each other still make the fighting flow from one move to the next.
