Rei Kurosawa, a freelance photographer whose fiance died in a car wreck while she was at the wheel, is drawn at night into the Manor of Sleep in her dreams. It is a house tied to a shrine whose priestesses were tattooed and sacrificed to carry grief into the afterlife. This is a 2005 horror game for the PlayStation 2, the third Fatal Frame. In Europe it came through Take-Two in February 2006. By day she is awake in her flat, where ghosts come to appear later on. Three characters have abilities of their own, and the ghosts are fought with the Camera Obscura, an old camera: you photograph hostile ghosts to damage them, with the damage set by the distance, the angle and the film, and the camera levels up with accurate shots. The flat is still the safe place that the house is coming for.
