Jak and Daxter's story begins in Spargus City, in the Wasteland, a large desert, a year after Jak II, in this 2004 action adventure platformer from Naughty Dog that concludes the trilogy. The game blends platforming, racing and gun combat, and you complete missions given by various characters, from defeating enemies to reaching a location. Outside timed missions you are free to explore the massive world. Spargus City, the Wasteland and Haven City work as the main hubs, with leaper lizards, buggies and zoomers as transport. Jak has twelve weapons, as each of four guns has two modifications, and the Dark Jak form from the previous game is countered by a Light Jak form that mostly focuses on defense. Car combat stages fill the desert, and powers such as slowing time add to the platforming. Twelve weapons and two Jak forms still give the fighting a lot of range.
