Ripple, an apprentice witch, sets out with her star maiden friends Topsy and Turvy to catch the demons she released from a forbidden book, in this 1991 horizontal scrolling shooter for the PC Engine. The two stars follow her, and you control their position and the direction they fire in. They can absorb certain weak bullets. Ripple has a large life bar and backup hearts, which you trigger by double tapping the fire button. She can use nine weapons, including a rapid fire shot, a three way shot, wave beams and homing attacks. Enemies drop crystals, which you spend in shops run by a pumpkin headed shopkeeper on health restoratives and items that extend your health. Every stage has at least one mid boss, and there are three difficulty levels. Shops that sell health and a choice of weapons still give each run decisions to make.
