Is it still worth playing?
A soldier takes on an enemy force that is secretly storing an alien cell in its base, in this 1991 run and gun game for the Game Boy, the first portable Contra. There are five stages, three seen from the side and two from above. The spread shot starts as a three way shot and becomes a five way shot when picked up again, and the fire gun comes from Super C. The machine gun became the standard weapon, and the game introduced the homing gun, whose bullets chase enemies. Most of the music is arranged from the first Contra. There is no multiplayer, and a code unlocks a stage select screen. Alternating side and top views over five stages still makes a compact run and gun.
