Is it still worth playing?
A boy and his shapeshifting dog are carried into the world of Evermore, in this action role playing game for the Super Nintendo, the first one made by Square's American team. Evermore is made of four realms, each like a period of history: prehistory, antiquity, the Middle Ages and an imagined future. Battles are in real time, with a ring shaped menu, and you can switch between the boy and the dog. A weapon has to recharge after a swing before it does full damage, and you start with a bone, finding better weapons in each area. Alchemy lets you combine two ingredients into a potion, and you learn many combinations as you go. The bosses are the main challenge, and some are very large with detailed animations. There is no two player mode. Alchemy that combines ingredients into potions, and weapons that recharge after each swing, still make the fights a matter of choices.
