Is it still worth playing?
A vertical scrolling shooter published by Hudson Soft for the PC Engine CD-ROM² in 1992, a spin off of the Star Soldier series that makes fun of its serious science fiction mood. You collect power ups to upgrade your weapons and face bosses and mini bosses, with a mini boss at the middle of each level, and there are time attack modes of two and five minutes. The graphics are bright and cartoonish, and defeated enemies wave white flags in surrender. You pick one of three craft: the Paro Ceaser from Star Soldier, a giant flying Bomberman, or a living PC Engine console that shoots HuCards and CD-ROMs at enemies. The soundtrack is full of upbeat tunes. It was never released outside Japan at the time, but it later came to the Wii Virtual Console and the PC Engine Mini. A shooter that never takes itself seriously still keeps every stage light.
