Is it still worth playing?
Six Star Wars factions fight real time strategy battles, in this 2001 game from LucasArts and Ensemble Studios built on the Age of Empires engine. The factions are the Galactic Empire, the Rebel Alliance, the Wookiees, the Trade Federation, the Gungans and Royal Naboo. You start with a Command Center, a scout and three workers, and gather food, carbon, nova crystals and ore to build structures and units. Advancing through four tech levels unlocks more units, buildings and upgrades, from troopers and mechs to ships, aircraft and Jedi or Sith knights. Armies can reach 200 units per side, and the game offers single player campaigns, skirmishes, local multiplayer and a scenario editor. The Clone Campaigns expansion added two factions. A familiar strategy formula in a galaxy full of known units still gives it a lot to explore.
