Is it still worth playing?
Armilly, a young knight, and her friend Copernica set out on a journey that grows much larger, in this 2019 role-playing and deck building game from Image and Form. It is a fairy tale told within the steampunk world of SteamWorld, and it is not directly linked to the previous games. Each battle draws up to six punch cards from your deck and you pick three per turn, and each character can only play their own cards. Playing regular cards adds to a shared Steam Pressure meter, which powers the more powerful Skill cards. You can upgrade cards and buy and sell weapons at a traveling merchant's caravan. The world is made of small areas you can loot for treasure, in a hand drawn style. The story has four acts and twenty chapters. Building a deck of your own cards makes each fight a small puzzle.
