Is it still worth playing?

A real time strategy game developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment, released for MS-DOS in North America in November 1994 and for Mac OS in 1996, the first game in the Warcraft series. You take the role of the Human inhabitants of Azeroth or the invading Orcs. In the campaign you usually build a small town, harvest resources, build an army and lead it to victory, though it adds mission types such as rescuing and rebuilding besieged towns, and missions with limited forces where neither side can make more units. Two players can compete by modem or local network, even across the DOS and Mac versions, with a random map generator for skirmishes. It was not the first real time strategy game with multiplayer, but it persuaded a wider audience that multiplayer was needed. A small force to manage and a clear aim still keep each mission easy to read.
