About this game

BioWare's 2000 sequel, which starts you as an experienced adventurer rather than at first level, so both the spells and the things you fight start much bigger. Ten classes, most of them with kits that specialise them further, still second edition Advanced Dungeons and Dragons run in real time you can stop at any moment. The stronghold is the change worth knowing about: at some point the game gives you somewhere of your own to run, and which one depends on your class, so a fighter gets a keep and a bard gets a theatre. Your companions argue with each other, take against your choices, court you or walk out, and several carry a quest of their own. The main story runs fifty or sixty hours and doing all of it runs to two or three hundred. Those arguments are why it holds up: a dungeon here comes with six people reacting to what you do in it.
