About this game
FromSoftware's 2015 PS4 game, set in Yharnam, a gothic city that treated everything with blood transfusions and is now full of people who have turned into beasts. You are a hunter, out on the night they get put down. There is no shield. Take a hit and part of the health stays recoverable for a moment, and the only way to get it back is to hit something, so the answer to being hurt is to attack rather than to back off. Weapons have two forms and switch mid swing, and the gun in your off hand is not for damage, it is for catching a blow as it starts and leaving the enemy open. None of this is explained to you, and neither is the story: what there is of it sits in item descriptions and in what the streets look like.
