Is it still worth playing?
The warrior Firion and his allies join a rebellion against the Palamecian Empire in this 1988 role playing game for the Famicom, released only in Japan at first. You roam an overworld with towns and dungeons, as in the first Final Fantasy, but characters have no levels. Their stats grow according to how they are used, so using a sword often improves sword skill, and hit points rise as characters take damage. The heroes are Firion, Maria, Guy and Leon, though Leon is missing for most of the game and his slot goes to a rotating cast of guest characters. Characters learn keywords such as wild rose and mythril and bring them up with other people to open new conversations. It also introduced chocobos and the recurring character Cid to the series. Growing a character through the weapons and spells used, and opening talks with keywords, still gives you things to try.
