Is it still worth playing?

You choose a boy or a girl to farm overgrown land and stop the mayor from building an amusement park on it, in this 1999 game for the Game Boy Color, the second portable Harvest Moon. Early on you clear weeds, till the field and water the plants every day, and more money buys more seeds. Cows and chickens return, and sheep are new, with a sheep pen and a greenhouse to build. You pick a dog or a cat, and the pet helps the farm. Crops grow in any season, and a greenhouse lets flowers and herbs grow whenever you like. Unlike the first game, you walk around the village and talk to villagers. At the end of the first year the mayor comes to check on the farm. A farm that has to be won back from weeds, with a village to walk through next door, still makes a quiet game of daily chores.
