Is it still worth playing?
Dark Matter has stolen the Rainbow Bridges that join seven islands, and Kirby sets out to win them back with three animal friends, in this 1995 platformer for the Game Boy. He swallows enemies and presses Down to steal powers such as fire, electricity and stone, and he can float, swim and fly. The friends are Rick the hamster, who runs faster and breathes fire, Coo the owl, who flies against strong winds, and Kine the sunfish, who swims against currents. Each can absorb a hit, and they are found in sacks, often guarded by a mini boss or hidden in side rooms. There are seven worlds with three to six stages each, and after every stage a bonus game lets Kirby launch from a cloud for extra lives and health. Finding a Rainbow Drop on each island unlocks the final boss. Stolen powers and three friends with their own abilities leave a lot to try in the stages even now.
