Off road racers of all kinds gather at the MotorStorm Festival, where every vehicle class races together, in this racing game first released in 2006 from Evolution Studios for the PlayStation 3. Participants are not limited in their choice of vehicle, and cut throat racing is encouraged. The classes range from bikes and ATVs to buggies, rally cars, racing trucks, mud pluggers and big rigs, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. Bikes are fast but easily wrecked by bigger vehicles, rally cars are fastest in a straight line but suffer on rough terrain, and big rigs favor mud but accelerate slowly. The eight tracks are set in Monument Valley and run from sand dunes to rocky canyons, with four more sold through the PlayStation Store. A mix of heavy trucks and bikes on one track still makes every race a different fight.
