Is it still worth playing?
Edge, a young mercenary who rides a dragon, meets a mysterious girl from a vanished civilization, in this 1998 role playing game for the Sega Saturn. It replaces the rail shooting of the earlier Panzer Dragoon games with random encounters, semi turn based battles and free roaming exploration. Most of the game happens on the dragon's back, where you can fly freely, with some parts on foot in towns, and it fills four discs. In battle, three power bars charge over a few seconds and you act when one is full. Edge's gun hits one enemy hard, while the dragon's laser hits several more weakly, and you can move between four quadrants around the enemies. It paired full 3D graphics with voice acting, both unusual in role playing games of its time. Choosing among the three bars and a position around the enemy still gives every fight a decision.
