Is it still worth playing?
You pick a team of three and fight other teams until you reach the boss Rugal Bernstein, in this 1998 SNK fighting game with no storyline. It brings back most of the characters from The King of Fighters '94 to '97. Rugal returns as Omega Rugal, although his character dies in the 1995 game. As in '97, you choose between two playing styles, Advance and Extra, with slight changes. When a character loses a round, the losing team gets a handicap, either an extra stock of the power gauge or a quicker charge. Whichever team keeps the most members at the end of the match wins. There is no story mode, since it was pitched as a best of entry, and damage carries over from one round to the next. Advanced lets you stockpile up to three super moves, while Extra lets you charge the meter by hand. Two styles of meter still give each team a choice of how to fight.
