Is it still worth playing?
Zonk, a punkish cyborg descended from Bonk, flies through five stages in this 1992 scrolling shooter for the TurboGrafx-16, a futuristic version of the Bonk games. King Drool and many enemies from those games return, and the look is lighthearted. Zonk starts with a rapid fire gun and flame jets in his feet that hit enemies behind him. Capsules give weapons such as punching gloves, boomerangs, alligator teeth, lasers and homing missiles, and a weapon lets you take an extra hit. Holding a button charges a bomb that damages almost everything on screen. At the start of a stage you grab a giant smiley face to pick a companion, such as a gumball machine or a mummy with a drill on its head. A companion kept alive merges with Zonk into a new form. Ten companions that change how Zonk fights still give each stage a different choice.
