Is it still worth playing?
A rhythm game developed by Harmonix and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 2 in 2003, the sequel to Frequency. You control a ship called a Beat Blaster across a lane of up to six tracks, each for a part of the song such as drums, synth, bass or vocals, shooting note gems in time with the music. If you hit enough notes in sequence, the track is captured and plays by itself for a number of bars, so you can move to another. The score multiplier grows with flawless streaks, and missing too many notes drains your energy. Beside the electronic tracks, the soundtrack has pop punk, alternative, hip hop and metal. Each world ends with a Boss Song, and there are power ups such as the new Slow Mo, which halves the speed for a short time. Capturing tracks to free your hands still gives each song a rhythm of its own.
