Is it still worth playing?

A freeware platform game by Michael Kayin O'Reilly for Windows, first released in October 2007, with very hard platforming and unorthodox level design. You control The Kid, who can move, jump, double jump and shoot, through stages made as parodies of NES games such as Zelda, Castlevania, Mega Man and Metroid. A single hit kills him, and most of the landscape is built to do it, with traps that no one could dodge without trial and error, such as the Delicious Fruit that falls up, down or sideways. There are no lives, so you have unlimited attempts, and the default Hard setting has save points about every two rooms, while Impossible has none. The bosses include Mike Tyson, Mother Brain and Dracula, and the soundtrack reuses tunes from many older games. Learning each trap makes the challenge fair.
