Is it still worth playing?
Clones from a failed experiment spill out into London, and squads of soldiers and police hold them back, in a 2009 cooperative first person shooter for Windows. In the main mode each match is a run of waves of these clones, called zeds, each harder than the last, ending on a boss called the Patriarch. Between waves your money buys ammunition, armour and weapons from katanas to flamethrowers at a trader who moves around the map, and more weapons turn up lying in the levels. You also pick one of seven perks, a class with weapon bonuses that levels up as you do its tasks. The rest is built for a team: healing works better on others than on yourself, money can be shared, doors can be welded shut, and a player who dies is back at the next wave as long as one survives. Waves that ask a squad to plan together and share what it has still make a match worth starting today.
