Is it still worth playing?

Private detective Jack Walters is sent to the secretive town of Innsmouth, in this survival horror game by Headfirst Productions, released for Xbox in 2005 and Windows in 2006. It is based on the works of H. P. Lovecraft, a reimagining of his novella The Shadow over Innsmouth, set mostly in 1922. It combines an action adventure with a fairly realistic first-person shooter and some stealth. A sanity system produces hallucinations, panic attacks, vertigo and paranoia, and there are puzzles to solve along with the fighting. Levels range from quaint towns to alien locations. It was in development from 1999 and lost some of its most ambitious features along the way. The sanity system still makes the fear come from the detective's own mind as much as from the enemies.
