Is it still worth playing?

You rule the kingdom of Ardania and cannot give an order to a single unit in this fantasy kingdom simulation for Windows from March 2000. It parodies fantasy role playing games by making you the ruler who hands out quests rather than the adventurer who takes them. Your heroes act on their own priorities and are independent, stubborn and greedy, so the only way to steer them is to offer gold: a rogue chases a reward fastest while a paladin prefers dangerous monsters. Gold is the only resource, coming from buildings, especially marketplaces, and from taxes on the treasure heroes bring home, and it only counts once a tax collector carries it back. Villagers build and repair what you place on their own. Every order is still a price today: you place buildings and offer gold, and the heroes decide whether the job is worth taking.
