Sir Daniel Fortesque is revived in Victorian London to stop the sorcerer Lord Palethorn and Jack the Ripper from raising the dead, in this 2000 action adventure for the PlayStation. It takes place five hundred years after the first game. SCE Cambridge Studio made it as a sequel before the end of the PlayStation's life. You travel through levels set in Victorian era London, and along with swords and shields Dan can now use modern weapons such as a pistol, a blunderbuss and a gatling gun. A new feature lets you select two weapons to toggle between in real time. As before, he earns more weapons by finding the Chalice of Souls in each level. Dan can detach his head and control a skittering hand to reach tiny passages with switches, but fall damage was added and life bottles can no longer be refilled endlessly. Two weapons to toggle between still change how each fight is fought.
