Is it still worth playing?

In 2164, three ships, each with its own Force pod and cannon, fight the Bydo, in this 1998 shoot em up for the PlayStation, the first R-Type with 3D graphics. The play is still seen from the side. The ships are the R-9A2 Delta, the Albatross and the Cerberus, and a hidden fourth ship also exists. The Force pods absorb energy from bullets and enemies, which fills a gauge that powers a screen clearing Delta Attack. The Albatross has a burst attack, and the Cerberus has an auto aiming lightning strike. Stages include a huge walker, a biological wasteland and a home base overrun by the Bydo. The visuals are dark, and there is slowdown in boss fights. Continues are limited at first and become infinite after several hours. The music is electronica. Three ships with Force pods that fire in different ways still change how you plan each stage.
