A nameless man is shipwrecked on Faranga, a Mediterranean style island under a live volcano. There the High Inquisitor Mendoza's order means to control the Titans, old beings held under the ground. It is a 2009 role playing game for Windows and the Xbox 360, the first of the Risen series. The tropical island is lush and seamless, with no invisible walls or loading screens, sharply detailed, and magic opens up more of it as you explore. There are no classes: the faction you join decides who will train you, and the fighting is real time and about where you stand, with five kinds of weapon and magic in two kinds, Crystal and Rune. The island is still small enough to know, with a faction that decides who you become.
